Leading the Way

Revealed earlier this week on BBC's 'The One Show' were the London Olympic Mascots, Wenlock and Mandeville. Named after Much Wenlock in Shropshire and Stoke Mandeville hospital, they boast a very new approach to the Mascot tradition of a large costume outfit. This inevitably will still be used throughout the buildup to, and the games themselves.

These characters hopefully represent an exciting insight into a digitally advanced and more accessible Olympic games which no doubt is due to advancements in social and new media techniques over the last four years.
